10 February 2024: Since adding an SSL certificate to the website making it an https url rather than http - Google Search Console has to be updated to reflect changes across the website. Have started working on the changes. Most of them are minor but small corrections have to be made on almost every page due to the change in filename. I had an html file called "sitemap.html" that Google flagged as a conflict with "sitemap.xml". Reference to the sitemap.html as a quick guide to the site appears on every page and 2 to 3 times on a few pages. Have to edit all of the pages on the site to make the correction. Trying to work out a system for doing this since there are over 600 pages! Also some question about canonical pages. I had those marked at one time then had to remove it because Google doesn't index canonical pages. Now they're saying there aren't any canonical pages and apparently see the change from http to https as a duplicate website. Working on figuring that one out. The logic seems a bit confusing. A couple of years ago there were pages marked canonical that Google wouldn't index and now they won't index over 500 pages because there isn't a clear canonical version of the page. ??????? I'm sure I'm missing something here.

The audio for this one is a bit rough since I was recovering from Covid and flu but had my voice back enough to get the recording done. Working on the video which may be ready next week.

19 January 2024: Rescanned and uploaded new copies of some of the maps for the website. these are larger versions for - Areas mentioned in Acts (Paul's Journeys), composite of ancient empires, Babylonian empire, Persian empire, Grecian empire, Roman empire, Palestine during the time of Christ, Palestine during the time of Joshua. The maps are various sizes and I was able to do some color correction / restoration on them. Can be modified in Photoshop etc. to fit whatever need someone has.
18 January 2024: I was hoping to be able to record the audio for the last lesson in the series on the End Times. I had gotten my voice back on December 28 after 7 weeks then lost it again due to the coughing etc from flu and Covid starting on the 1st. 411 And After This will be the final lesson in the series. I have several ideas for what comes next but haven't decided which one to do yet.

31 March 2022: I've made progress in editing audio with Adobe Audition. I have had a problem with increased mouth noise such as clicks etc. since the cancer surgery. This past week I have made great progress being able to remove problem clicks and things from recordings. I have replaced the file for lesson 302 The Word Of Faith with a newer cleaner edit that sounds much clearer than the original.

2 March 2022: Finally got some maps uploaded to the website. Until now there have been placeholder images of books but there haven't been any maps. 41 images are available of several of the tribes These are: Asher, Benjamin, Dan North & South, Ephraim, Gad & Issachar. There are also two images of all the tribes that I've set against a high contrast scan of the original page. Age spots on the paper and yellowing made it difficult to get a good image but will work on that. the maps are at Illustrations / Maps.

19 February 2022: I restructured the Lesson Index to add a quick access list for the audio files. The audio file list contains mp3 recordings for all lessons with the exception of the Evolution series by David Eakin. I may render audio files for that series and add them to the list. Placeholders are actually in the file so adding won't be a problem.

I'll be using that later to record the audio for the lesson. I've also added the section for the new lessons and the placeholders for one has been added to the list of titles. Working on the title graphics in After Effects to switch some of the load from Pinnacle Studio to avoid all the crashes it's prone to. May have the first lesson ready in the next two weeks.

23 January 2021: Found a good resource for creating a responsive image gallery. My illustrations that I have online at the present time are in a text index with no thumbnails. Its taken quite a while to figure out how to create a good gallery and after sorting through hundreds of tutorials have found one that works. Created a test page this evening and the tests so far have been very good. The creator of the video also went over making the thumbnails in Photoshop and saving the conversion process as an automated action that can process the images in a batch. There were a few things that were left out of the code in the video but was able to track down the source code and get that corrected. Now all I have to do is merge the existing illustration index with the new page and code the captions as hyperlinks to download the images. Will take a while but looking great so far and the responsive elements will scale nicely.

This is the introduction to the new group of lessons. They are a continuation of the series on biblical symbolism but focus specifically on the elements directly involved in worship under the Mosaic dispensation. The last lesson in the group is near completion and discusses the Sabbath day. I have the next 9 lessons laid out for video so will also be working on finishing them as well. I am also working on editing the transcripts of the lessons. Some of the pdf files are available at this time and some need a final check.
19 October 2020: Reworked the Bulletin Article Index. Look of the page now matches the lesson index. I have also reordered the articles in reverse from newest to oldest. Will be working on getting the articles converted to html and moving the pdf versions to a subfolder. The pdf downloads will be available from the article page. Both of the pages are also validated now and error free. Slight tweak for the css on the article page to resize text for smaller screens.

This last part deals with prophecy in the New Testament and how it is different from what we find in the Old Testament.
26 March 2020: Audio for lesson 212 Focal Points In Old Testament Prophecy that discusses the subjects commonly appearing in the prophets is now online. This also demonstrates limits to how these can be interpreted and the relationship they have with the New Testament.
24 March 2020: Just finished proofreading the script for lesson 212. I need to add a couple of references but looks like I will be able to record the audio tomorrow. The video for 210 is coming along. I've been working on some effects for the illustrations which takes a lot of time and means I have to learn how to actually do them. Fun when they're completed and looking better than just the static illustration.
22 March 2020: Just put the finishing touches on the scripts for lesson 212 & 213 which will complete the discussion of the nature of prophecy in the Bible and how to establish its context etc. so that we can have a better understanding of what the scriptures teach. I will be sending a notification for the audio for 211 in a couple of days. Once I get 212 / 213 proofread I will record the audio. That should give me time then to work on the video for 211 and not get too far behind. The next several videos and scripts about the Law of Moses will be easier since I have quite a few outlines already developed.

11 March 2020: The next video lesson 209 - Three Types Of Christ is now online and ready for viewing. Currently working on the preview for Facebook and may have that done in the next day or so. The mp3 audio is available as well as the transcript for the lesson. Lesson 211 - Prophecy, Symbolic Language & Interpreting The Bible is probably going to be split into three due to the length and examples that are used. I have spent some time exploring how to establish the context of the prophetic books as well as the types of symbols that are used. The lessons also explore the time periods that are actually covered by the writings of the prophets with an examination of limits that we need to recognize on applying these. The middle lesson will discuss figures used to discuss the restoration of Israel & Judah and what they mean in light of the New Testament. These are some of the more misinterpreted prophecies and so I exapnded the lesson to cover some of the more familiar and obvious passages. The script for 210 - The Sun, Moon & Stars is ready to record as soon as my throat clears up a bit. I am also finishing the script for lesson 212 - Shadows In The Law which will probably be lesson 214 with changes made to 211.
10 February 2020: I have rerecorded audio for the first ten videos in the Introduction To The Bible series and they sound much better. I have the first two of these uploaded which are - 102 - What Version Should I Use and 103 The King James Version Of The Bible . The project file for the introductory video will have to be rebuilt so that might take a day or so. after that will move on to 104 etc. Also starting work on 209 Three Types Of Christ as well.
08 February 2020: Finished and uploaded the mp3 audio for 209 Three Types Of Christ . This lessons covers the figures of Melchizedek, Moses and Jonah as foreshadows of the Messiah. Also have rerecorded raw audio for videos 104 - 110. Will edit that and get it online in the next few days. I have improved in pacing the speed of the reading and also have better post-processing. The audio is cleaner, less compressed and more consistent between lessons. The only thing that will take some time is to recreate the video. Placing the new audio track into the current video has been presenting a problem as far as working with the title segments. Studio is prone to crashing and so that time it takes to produce a video is longer than it would have been otherwise. Will start working on those as well. I have a script done for 210 which will be working on this week and the script for 211 is done but needs proofread. I have started on the next script - 212 - and hope to have that done in the near future. Titles for the remaining lessons in the series on symbolism are:
Lessons 212 - 227 focus on types in the law of Moses specifically. Those will lead into the next series that discusses doctrine. Lot to do but getting there.

21 January 2020: Still recovering from eye surgery and now Epstein Barre I have been able to re-record the audio for the first three lessons in series one 101 - Introduction, 102 - What Version Should I Use, & 103 - The King James Version. Over the past two years I have come a long way in my recording skills and the difference in quality is apparent. Of course with swollen tonsils I have a little bit of noise but when listening to the original recordings I remembered that I had a bad throat then as well but this one is still better! Will work on replacing the original audio in the video version of the lessons as soon as possible as well. I have replaced the introduction, discussion of versions in 102 and the lesson on the King James Version. The audio is in the lesson index.
23 November 2019: The script for 209 is ready and I might get it recorded tomorrow. Having eye surgery for a detached retina and won't be able to use a computer or read for 2 weeks. That will delay completion of the video for 208 as well.
20 November 2019: Updated critical path css has been added to the transcripts that have been converted to html which resolves the dual banner display. Replaced the section images on the home page of the website with an updated graphic that looks much better. Also replaced the favicon for the site with a new design - the lantern that appears in the banner. Overall looks much cleaner.
19 November 2019: Code for the new logo has been updated on all of the lesson pages for the chapters of God's Words. I also added the updated code to the html transcripts and Bible book outlines.
18 November 2019: The logo changes for the page headers are in place and working well. The new design is more of what I was going for when I created the site but didn't know how to position things very well. The changes will appear on desktops and tablets. For responsive designs the smaller screens such as phones will only display text. Now working on the favicon and the placeholder images on the home page.
17 November 2019: I have a new logo design that looks better and consolidates the image of the Bible and the tagline. Attempting to remove the references to the old images from the css has been quite a job - on the internet no one can hear you scream, or type feverishly! Anyway!! I finally realized that the critical path css was probably holding onto references for this so had to unminify the css, find ALL the necessary entries for the images in the various versions for responsive sizing. That has taken several weeks to really get that done and tonight there was success. The images were finally gone and the new logo only appeared on the Index / home page of the site. So thinking that I had this down I began to add the critical path info the other pages and for whatever reason the old logo image refuses to die. Probably due to the server holding onto a cached page and the browsers not wanting to let it go. So for now the home page is good and the other pages are probably showing the old and new logo designs. Will keep working on this to get the cleaner look. Last night finished the script for lesson 209 - Three Types Of Christ that discusses Melchizedek, Moses and Jonah. That one is ready for recording after one more proof read. 208 has been started and things are going a lot smoother. The title editor in Pinnacle Studio was really giving me fits and then one day - just for fun - I brought up the task manager in Windows to see what the video load was. I was running an Nvidia GTX 750 card with 1 GB of GDDR3 and the load was at 80% and higher. Updates for Premiere Pro were not loading either due to low vram. Minimum for Premiere Pro 2019 appears to be 4GB of vram. Last week I upgraded to a GTX 1660 with 6 GB of GDDR5 I believe. That solved the performance issues with Studio that I was having. The last video took 5 times longer to produce due to the slow response time in positioning titles and graphics. I was convinced that I was going to have to move over to Premiere for everything but the upgrade solved the problem. Pinnacle also does some things that Premiere just isn't designed for. Studio still hacks the audio on output so I import to Premiere and then replace the soundtrack wtih the original recording and sync it. So... in the next few days hope to have the logo dilemma solved.

01 August 2019: Uploaded the audio for Lesson 205 In Remembrance Of Me which discusses the Lord's Supper, its connection with the Passover & appearance as a transitional element as the new law is about to be implemented. The lesson also addresses some of the mystical ideas surrounding the elements used and proposes a more practical application in the mind and life of believers. Starting video production later tonight which will take about a week or so to complete. Transcript is also nearing completion as well.
16 July 2019: The transcript for 204 The Figure Of Water is now online. The pdf version is available for download from the transcript page. I am currently recording audio for lesson 205 - In Remembrance Of Me which discusses the communion or Lord's Supper and the figurative elements involved. Plan to have that done in the next 2 weeks. 206 - Whose Sacrifice Is It will be next and the script is nearing completion at this time.

Currently I am working on the next 6 lessons and three are scripted, one is ready for the audio recording and the others are in final phases of editing. The last two lessons that were added are:

03 May 2019: Just finished the audio for lesson 4 in the series on Biblical symbolism. The lesson audio for 203 The Sanctity Of Blood is ready for listening or download . The video won't be online for a couple of weeks and I'm working on the graphics for that now. Last night I also started on a redesign for the site and so far the graphics for the header look good. I have also found that I can simplify the design as well since I know more about what I'm doing. 17 April 2019: I just uploaded the audio files for the first three lessons of the next series. This series will discuss the nature of symbolic forms in the Bible. This is intended as a indepth study of figurative language and other forms that are frequently misunderstood. The first three lessons are 200 Introduction To Biblical Symbolism, 201 The Nature & Characteristics Of Symbols, & 202 The Numbers of God. The videos and transcripts are ready as well but I will be holding off for a little while longer until the next lesson is underway. That way I will hopefully eliminate a gap between publishing and producing the lessons.
27 February 2019: After working with Adobe Audition for the past year I have finally worked out a series of effects that renders the audio lessons very well. No boomy compression or distortion. The early videos that I did are not that good in terms of the audio quality. Now that I'm working on a new series I will be able to get them processed in a much more audibly pleasing manner. The challenge might be to go back and redo the existing video soundtracks. Tonight I replaced the audio for lesson 103 The King James Version and will have to say it is much better than the previous recorded version. I may try to resync that with the video at some point.

01 February 2019: Thanks to Angela L. who has tagged chapters 21 - 28 of God's Words: An Introduction To The Bible . These chapters are online and available now. There are two chapters remaining and the text will be complete. I have also begun writing scripts for the next series of lessons. Series 2 deals with symbols, types, figurative language and prophecy in the Bible. There are 27 lessons outlined for now but that number is subject to change.

16 January 2019: The remainder of the books have been converted to html and are uploaded. The final lesson in the introduction to the Bible series was completed and uploaded yesterday. PDF versions of the outlines are linked to the pages and are avaiable for download.
10 January 2019: 14 hours into building the video for the Gospel Plan of Salvation, lesson 133. Pinnacle studio is really causing some headaches when trying to build the "slides" and titles. The lesson is 59 minutes long and after the time today and 2 hours last night at a total of 16 hours and at minute 29! May be able to get it done tomorrow. Didn't get any more book outlines done today so will also try to get caught up on that tomorrow as well.

4-5 January 2019: Some overlap on the dates since I work at night. Anyway, I have completed the html conversion for Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians & Philippians. My voice also seems clear enough that I can finally get back to recording so will work on the last lesson in the basic introduction to the bible - 133 The Gospel Plan Of Salvation. I discuss what the Bible says about conversion, review examples in the book of Acts, discuss John 3.16 and the idea of the sinners prayer & salvation by faith only.

2 January 2019: All right first update of the new year. Over the past month we've made a lot of progress on getting the textbook on the Bible online! After correcting minor problems with the main pages and achieving a 100% validation I noticed that the pdf files I have on the site are not responsive and needed to be addressed. When I got the site online in I placed a large amount of content in the form of pdf files online to get the volume built up quickly. I knew I would have to address that at some point and so now I have. I have outlines for all of the books of the Bible which are currently in pdf format. since Monday I have been able to convert the first 5 books to html format and they are looking good and also have a 100% validation. Took some tweaking but they are also responsive and look good on both an iPhone and Samsung S7! Tests on Ipad have been good although I will have to say the layout looks better in the vertical layout than the landscape but both are scaling well and looking good. I have also learned some new tricks with styling tables which I may put in a video for my YouTube channel. That has cut the time down tremendously. It took about half a day to get Genesis done but today I have been able to get Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy done. Only 61 more to do!
29 December 2018: Chapters 11 - 20 of God's Words: An Introduction To The Bible have all passed validation at 100% using the w3c tool. Chapters 21 - 30 are ready for tagging. As soon as that is done I will be adding the code to the new page template and have them online very soon. Also need to record the script for the last lesson in the basic Bible study series. Hopefully will be done with that soon as well.
28 December 2018: God's Words: An Introduction To The Bible chapters 11 - 20 are now online and are listed in the table of contents. There are a few tweaks left to do but they are fully usable. Working on converting the last 10.
26 December 2018: The first ten chapters of the textbook on the Bible are online thanks to the assistance of Angela L. I have also been working on improvements and have reached a 100% validation on all major pages on the site. I still have to work on the chapter pages but that will not take long. I have also redesigned the chapter summary for the textbook so it is more readable. Still have to adjust the text sizes for smaller screens on that but is displaying well at the present time. I have noticed that with the changes to the pages the load times are a bit faster. Also working on converting pdf based docs to html for better access. The pdf will also be available for download.
8 December 2018: I have the table of contents, introduction and first four chapters of the textbook God's Words: An Introduction To The Bible online. There are some minor tweaks to each of the chapters that need to be made but the links are working and format is styling well. Angela L. who has been assisting with the conversions has completed work on the first ten chapters so will be working on 5 - 10 tomorrow. Looking good for getting this online as a teaching aid by the end of the year or shortly after. I will be making this available primarily to those outside the U.S. that can't access the larger files etc. on the website.
5 December 2018: Finished the script for the last lesson in my introduction to the Bible series tonight. I finished work on my voiceover studio a little over a month ago and looking forward to recording this script in it. This lesson, 133, covers the Gospel plan of salvation and includes a discussion of John 3.16. Examples from the book of Acts are explored in depth along with a review of Christ's statements. I believe this is the longest lesson script so far and will take a couple of weeks to record audio and put the video together but really excited about having this first set of lessons completed. I set out to have these done in a year but right now it looks like it will be about 18 months for everything. Already working on plans for the next series which I will probably start working on in January.
17 November 2018: Finally finished work on the recording studio and will be using that to finish the last lesson in the basic Bible study series. I also have a project to make the textbook on the Bible available online. There are some folks outside the U.S. that have not been able to access the files I have sent them in our discussions. I decided to make the text available to them, and anyone else, as a teaching tool. I will leave a message that might encourage some to purchase a hard copy of the book to support the site and purchasing Bibles for folks outside the U.S. I have help with the project and that is speeding things up quite a bit. I will be adding the book under the Lessons menu. Looks good so will be working on file conversions and finalizing the script for lesson 133 - The Gospel Plan Of Salvation. Also planning on converting the article files that are online to html with the pdf version available for download. That will assist with the search capability on the site and ability to find subjects. Right now the search engines don't seem to be able to pick up on metadata I added to the pdf files which makes sense. To convert these to html will make things more available.
02 October 2018: Just posted the announcement for our Fall Gospel Meeting. Running a bit late on that. I am also trying to finish up several projects including the script for the final installment in my basic Bible study series. Too many projects running at the same time. I had hoped to have my recording studio done by this point to record that lesson but may not be in time. Will try to get that online here in the next few days.
05 September 2018: A lot has been going on. I've been working on a dedicated space to record audio for the video and audio lessons. That is nearing completion but it has interrupted work on the final video in the Introduction To The Bible series. Hopefully that will be done in the next few weeks. I am also working out the outlines for the next series of studies. In the meantime I have been editing the audio for the video lessons. Some of the earlier recordings are too boomy (if that's a word). I have been successful editing these and taking some of the low end down and quieting other loud sections. If all goes well I may be able to replace the videos currently online with enhanced reedited audio that sounds better.
06 July 2018: Uploaded the next video in the Introduction To The Bible series. The video 132 End Of Days presents what the Bible has to say about the second coming of Christ. I will explore the ideas included in premillennial doctrine in a later video but this simply focuses on objective information providing an idea of what will occur. In the video I discuss whether there will be a sign of the second coming, the events that will occur when Christ returns and the fate of the Earth. 19 June 2018: Finally was able to record and finish the next video in the introduction to the Bible series. The video The Scheme Of Redemption Part 6 - The Messianic Strain takes a look at prophecies that are more specific concerning the Messiah and how they are fulfilled in Christ. The detail found in the Old Testament is evidence of a divine inspiration and the existence of God. The transcript file for the video is 131.pdf. The audio file for the lesson is here. Looks like the bug I've been fighting for the past few months is easing off and the script for the next video is done. I will be working on that and hope to have it out very soon. There are 2 videos left in the introduction to the Bible so looking forward to getting those done.

13 April 2018: Yesterday I uploaded the next video in the basic Bible study series. The video, 130 - The Scheme Of Redemption 5 - Kingdom Come, discusses whether the kingdom that Christ came to establish exists or is it still in the future. I am also working on converting some of the worksheets that I have developed for my classes over the years to pdf and placing them online as a download. Those will most likely be under the lessons menu or the helps menu. Still working on that.
01 April 2018: I have uploaded the final article on the subject of benevolence. The article is located here . The article presents scriptures that detail benevolence in the early church and makes a distinction between what the individual can do when compared to the church collectively. I have included a brief summary of the history of the idea of institutionalism but have focused mainly on what the scriptures teach about the subject.
19 March 2018: I have added a new article which is part of series leading up to a discussion of benevolence. This article discusses the structure of the church and its organization. I have also discussed the beginning of the church and why attempts to recreate the events of Pentecost are not correct.
14 March 2018: Over the past year or so I have tried to work with the Google Custom Search Engine (cse) for the site. The results from searches were not very good and the code for the cse was keeping the pages from performing the best they could. A few days ago I found some code to use Google to search the site which in testing resulted in very good results. The problem was the code was not responsive so I worked for a couple of days on resolving that issue and had some degree of success but the search field was just not scaling well for small screens. Finally I decided to make the search field available on a dedicated search page. In the tests that I have done the search keyword field and search button realign but are not hovering off the screen as it was before. I added the search page to the top banner menu so it is now available from all pages. Later I removed the cse elements from all the pages and tested with Google PageSpeed Insights. All pages are now performing with a score of 100 with the exception of the video lesson page with the embedded video from YouTube which has a score of 99. Oh well! The new search page will open in a new tab and so far has displayed more targeted and relevant results. I also added a link to the contact page in the event that information on a subject can't be found.
13 March 2018: Working on improving the search capability since the present Google custom search bar really doesn't search the site very well. Have code from a couple of developers but not having any success with getting the responsive scaling to work properly. I thought about putting the search on a seperate page with a link on each page then just placing the search box on that page. Might try that since I had considered that a while back. Right now the search field doesn't look bad just throws the page titles off center in Firefox and sometimes in Chrome. Edge seems to be all right. Also the performance hit I get is on the custom search that is from Google. When I analyzed pages that had the newer code on it I scored 100 on most of them.

15 January 2018: Added a chart in the illustration section of the patriarchs born after the flood. The chart begins with the birth of Arphaxad the son of Shem two years after the flood and ends with Abraham. At the bottom of the main section I have also placed a timeline of how many years had passed from the time of the flood for each of the patriarchs. Interesting study on the birth of Noah's sons and also the Abraham. The chart is here

24 December 2017: I just posted a link to an article entitled God & Santa that compares the way in which some people view God placing him in the same category as Santa who is a fictional character. I also have three videos in the works that should be out in the next week or so. I was hoping to have the first series done by the end of the year but it won't be much longer than that. 13 December 2017: The next two lessons on the Scheme of Redemption are written. As soon as my sore throat heals I'll be recording them and get them online. In the meantime I have uploaded a chart comparing the Passover lamb from the book of Exodus as a foreshadow of Christ with supporting scriptures. Planning on a Facebook page for the site where I can post development progress as I am working on things. 25 September 2017: The Mosaic Dispensation - (video 124) has been uploaded along with the audio and full transcript in pdf format. I briefly review the founding and history Israel as God fulfills another promise made to Abraham. The video covers the entire period up to the ascension of Christ. Elements of the Law are discussed including the Tabernacle, various laws that were given, the role of the Levitical priests and the relationship of the ten commandments to the Law in its entirety.
17 September 2017: The Patriarchal Dispensation - (video 123) has been uploaded along with the audio and full transcript in pdf format. This video is more detailed as the Patriarchal period is presented. God's laws and means of delivery are discussed. I also point out that in the absence of a formal written law, God's spoken word was the law. This video will provide a good foundation to review the next period (the Mosaic dispensation) and understand the judgment of God.
16 August 2017: The Ages Of God - (video 122) an introduction to a study of the dispensations recorded in the scriptures is online. I have also uploaded the mp3 audio as well as a transcript of the video. This one took a little longer as I was using new audio equipment and scanning artwork. The images used in the video are from a family Bible my Dad had. I have dated the illustrations as being published in 1879 by Abingdon Press and believe them to be in the public domain. I contacted Abingdon about this and did not receive a response so conclude there is no copyright infringement. I have not seen any of these illustrations in other Bible resources. The scans are large so am now working on scaling them down to add to the illustration index. I also have several new charts in the works that should be ready in the next week or so. The next few videos are running longer than any of the others so I may provide an outline to these instead of a script. I'll see how that works out. Enjoy!
28 July 2017: I just uploaded a new video that traces a timeline through the Biblical narrative. The video also shows the books in relation to the passage of time which will aid in understanding the changes that take place in God's laws over different periods. This study prepares the way for the next several videos that will explore the flow of the text, help you understand the changes that God made and explore the central theme of the scriptures. I have provided links to the chart for the video for those who view this on smaller screens and which will serve as an outline for the lesson.

There are 2 more videos coming - audio has been recorded and processed. Just need to take some pictures for those and then I will be able to get them online. I will also be switching to using cards etc. on Youtube since the scrolling end credits may not be effective or I may do both. Lots of good stuff in the works.

22 April 2017: The first 6 videos in the basic Bible course are online. I have added a Lessons item in the menu which will provide an index of available videos, an All videos page with thumbnails and an Audio page with links to mp3's for each of the lessons. Transcripts of the lessons are available as well. The actual recordings are hosted on Youtube and I am working in getting a link to that on the homepage.
07 April 2017: Busy time since the last update. I am in the process of producing video lessons for the website that will supplement the textbook and have them on Youtube as well as the video page here on the site. I have added a new menu option to access these. There is an index with a short description of each video as well as a thumbnail page showing all videos. The first series will cover basics such as Bible versions, how to get a Bible and other practical suggestions for beginners. There are 32 videos planned for this series. Some of them are under ten minutes while a few are a bit longer. I have been able to post a video about every 3 to 5 days depending on how long it takes me to take photos for illustrations and process the separate audio track. These videos are scripted and there will be information and/or a link to accessing this through the actual video. Learning a lot about Youtube right now! Right now there are 4 videos online and another 2 under way so should be online in the next few days. Getting closer to having a comprehensive Bible study resource. I will also be offering the separate audio tracks as mp3 downloads. That index is in process but not functional yet. Should be up and running soon.

29 January 2017 : A final revision of God's Words: An Introduction To The Bible has been submitted that fixed some minor issues not related to spelling. Once the proof copy is back I will be able to place that on sale. Looks like the release date will be February 14th, 2017.
19 January 2017 : I received the proof copy of God's Words: An Introduction To The Bible today and was very happy with the binding and printing. I have uploaded a revised version that corrects three typos and two instances in which words were doubled. I have to wait until I receive those copies before I can approve them for sale. I should have the new copies on January 29th which will probably be the release date. I have been working on the e-book version at the present time. It is too early in the development of that to have any idea about when it will be available but should not be too long.

10 January 2017 : The book project is complete. I have a proof copy on the way but everything appears to be good with the publisher. The price took a bit of a jump when the final package was uploaded which was unavoidable. I will add the url for the book when I have examined the proof. That will probably take about two weeks to complete.
05 January 2017 : The outline for the book of Psalms is now online and ready for use. All of the books of the Bible are now complete and online. The book project is in the final stage of development. I have to complete the artwork for the cover of the book which has taken more time than anticipated but hope to have that done soon. Once that is done I will be able to produce the test copies with the publisher. One copy has already been done with a local bookbinder and the typesetting etc. looks good. Looking to release that in the next few weeks. Now that the book outlines are done for the Bible am also working on instructional videos and audio as well which will help round out the site as a study resource. I also have additions to make for the study resources page as well.

03 October 2016 : I found a workaround for the columns for the scripture reference index and have been able to correct the text flow. All parts of the book are now complete. Later this week I will be working on the cover art for a dust jacket. Once that is done the book will be submitted for printing. I can also generate a new sample preview based on the current changes that have been made. On schedule to have at least a test copy of the book done in the next two to three weeks.
02 October 2016 : The index for the book project is complete. I have also added a scripture reference index as well. Between the two it should be easier to find a particular subject or reference. I was not able to get the scripture index arranged in two columns for whatever reason so finally opted for single lines. That made the index longer than it would have been but I decided either to fight with the program or go ahead and get this one done and save the battle for a later revision. Now to complete the cover art and the book should be off to the printer by the end of the month. I also plan on replacing the current preview with an updated version that will reflect the changes made.
18 September 2016 : I have posted a new article on the use of the phrase "New Testament Christian" in reference to believers. I have also been working on the index for the book project. This past week I received a bound copy of the book given as a gift from a local bindery and the typesetting etc. looks good. The index is about one fourth done at this time so looking forward to having the production copies ready in the next couple of months. Progress.

27 August 2016 : I have updated the chart for the books of the Bible by category. The display in Firefox shows some lines around the edges of some of the text boxes that I will try to resolve but the download of the chart is fine. Chrome and Edge display the chart accurately.
15 July 2016 : The outline for the book of Job is now online and ready for use.
06 July 2016 : Typesetting and corrections for God's Words: An Introduction To The Bible are now complete. The next phase will be to create an index. Since this is a reference on the Bible it would not be complete without a way to find the subjects covered. The indexing will be slow process but I have a printed copy of the book to use as a guide to detail entries that will be needed. I also have outlines for 2 Kings and Ezekiel that are nearing completion as well. Hope to have those online shortly but the emphasis has been the book project for the past several weeks. Things look good for a move to submit the book for publication as soon as a workable index is complete.
27 May 2016 : Using online tools have been able to resolve the critical path css and also minified the css files. Current Google page speeds for mobile are 97/100 for the page load speed and 100/100 for the user experience! A few more tweaks are needed but the numbers look good.
26 April 2016 : The outline for 1 Kings is now online and ready for use.
25 March 2016 : Added 52 articles from 2004. Search engine has indexed the 2005 and 2006 articles so hopefully these will be added to the index soon.
17 March 2016 : Made a correction to the article on the amount of time that Noah had to build the ark. The correction was the reasoning on the age of Shem based on Genesis 11.10. The math now reconciles the age of Noah and the age of Shem at the beginning of the flood. Check it out and see what you think.
17 March 2016 : Added a chart showing the ages of the Patriarchs before the flood. Shows the age at which they died and birth of children as given in Genesis. The search engine is still not showing new content added in the past few days. Missing from the search are articles from 2006 & 2005 as well as the new chart that was added. Hopefully will get those indexed soon.
16 March 2016 : Summaries for the new pages that have been added are done. I checked the search engine and the content of the newer pages has not yet been indexed. From my reading on Google this may take 24 hours for the new content to show up so will test again later in the day. Most of the new content was finished around 10 p.m. on the 15th so will check late tomorrow (or today since it is after midnight). We shall see.
15 March 2016 : 40 articles from 2005 have been added. Need to complete summaries for 2006 / 2005. May be able to get that done by the end of the day.
14 March 2016 : 30 articles from 2006 have been added to the Articles index page. Will add summaries for those later today. I will also be adding a search field to the site as well so content can be found without scrolling through all of the lists.
13 March 2016 : Summaries for the new articles that were added are now online. The format is a single page which hopefully will make the viewing experience better.
12 March 2016 : 51 articles added to the index. Working on summaries for them now so will be online soon.
6 March 2016 : The reworked pages and menus are online and working well. I did note that with a Nook color using the stock web browser it was not able to open articles in a second tab. I will have to see if that is the same for newer Nooks. Will have to check the Nook store and see if there is a web browser that can be downloaded. The links etc. have been tested so the overall navigation on the site is now more usable than it was.
5 March 2016 : The menu has been reworked and tested on a new homepage. I tested the new menu on my desktop, an Ipad Air2 and a Nook color. All of the content and the menu resized very well and dropdown menus are working as well. Tomorrow I will begin fixing the links for the final pages and adding the new menu code to them. Once that is done the new pages will be ready to put in place. I tested the page using Google Pagespeed insights and the numbers look very good. 99/100 for the user experience on mobile and 91/100 for the load speed. No problems with a red box were noted so looks good!
3 March 2016 : The index pages for the articles, sermons and illustrations are done and basically ready to go. All the other pages are ready as well. I have been working on scaling the menu for the small mobile devices and so far over the past week have had no success to date. I am considering building a simpler menu that will scale but really like the look of the current menu. So still working on that and when done will be able to move all the pages to the site. I have around 100 hours in the rework to date and a quarter of that has been on the menus. You really have to appreciate the work that goes into making all of this display correctly for everyone. Once the site is up and running I will also work on making the pages more accessible as well.
27 February 2016 : The new pages are done. I still have some work to do on the contact buttons but otherwise the desktop and small screen sizes are ready. This next week I will be working on adjustments on the tablet screens and the main menu for the small screen sizes. Going well for now so hopefully will soon have the new pages in place with new navigation and some restyling as well.
23 February 2016 : I now have master pages for 2 of the categories and have completed 6 of the new files complete with data / text. The list files for the article, sermon and illustration indexes are ready but need to have the data transferred. The responsive design looks good and menus are looking very good. Will be continuing with work on the menu for the small screen sizes. So far all of the changes have been done with pure css and no java script! The amount of code in the css and the files themselves has been reduced so looking forward to good load times with the new ones.
22 February 2016 : Work on the responsive site and menu redesign is going well. Using two Lynda.com courses by James Williamson (Applied Responsive Design, CSS Navigation) I have successfully created a new menu structure with dropdown lists. The changes will be incorporated into a master template for the site. I have identified 4 categories of pages and that will reduce the amount of code in the css file to decrease load times. Minor changes will be applied to the files in each category so that the entire site will be consistent. If all goes well will be able to start building the new pages in the next several days. Once they are complete will start moving them to the site.
18 February 2016 : Work on the redesign of the site is going well. Using the Lynda.com course resources have a workable template built and have tested the various screen sizes. The smaller sized pages for mobile devices is looking good so should be able to decrease load times. The current menus are lacking and so have I am reworking them as well for the different screen sizes. Navigation will look much better and will actually be helpful. The original site menus were very good but had to be condensed. The new menus will feature dropdown lists in 4 categories that will make moving around the site easier without having to rely as heavily on the sitemap for navigation. Proceeding slowly but definitely moving forward and looking good.
15 February 2016 : Added the outline for Zechariah. The minor prophets are now complete. Will be adding more of the historical books in the near future. Also editing an outline for Job as well.
11 February 2016 : Added the outlines for the books of Amos, Haggai, Hosea, Micah, Nahum, Zephaniah. Currently working on the outline for Zechariah and should be done in the next day or so. Work is continuing on the responsive design update and a Facebook page for the site as well. The Facebook page will provide a way to post updates and better front end for the site.
30 January 2016 : I have a lot of content that is about ready. Finished up several of the minor prophets and will be getting those online in the next week. Also working on a redesign of the site to boost the load speeds etc. so that is currently a work in progress. Book editing is in the final stages and will be able to start typesetting soon. Had planned on that being done by the end of the year for 2015 but did not quite make it. So, will keep things updated here a little more frequently. Also working on a Facebook page for the site as well.

21 October 2015 : Several outlines are ready and should be online in the next week or so. Things have been moving a little slower than expected but will have all on track soon.

6 May 2015 : I had the outlines for Judges and Ruth both done and then somehow between leaving the house and getting into the car, lost the notebook so had to redo both of them. They are now reformatted and hoping to have them typed up in the next week and online. Also looking at other tweaks needed for the format on very small devices. some paragraphs not displaying as good as they need to. Hope to have those done as well.
15 March 2015 : The outlines for John , Acts, 1 Corinthians & 2 Corinthians are online and ready for use. That completes the outlines for the New Testament. The outlines for Judges and Ruth are both ready just have to get them formatted and uploaded. Should have that done in the next day or so.
08 March 2015 : I went over every page and did some more cleanup on the styles etc. Looks pretty good for now so will have to leave it as is for a while. Speed rating for mobile was 82/100 and user experience was 98/100. More work to do but for now will concentrate on the the content this week and get some things moved over. I have a number of articles that will be coming over as well as several book outlines. The book outlines will finish off the New Testament (probably already said that below ....) and will add a couple of books to the Old Testament. Also working on the content for the minor prophets. 06 March 2015 : After rewriting the pages several times, having them disappear entirely and then having to rewrite them again I was able to finally load the mobile first responsive design last night. So far looks good and the content is resizing nicely for even small screens. will have to tweak some of the pages and continue to refine the design so will work on that. Now that the design is online will add the other content that I have been preparing and will also move on to the other related pages / sites.
11 February 2015 : Was testing the new responsive / mobile first design (coming soon) and noticed that the dropdown menus do not appear to be working in windows 8.1. Not sure if that is a site problem for today or a win8 problem. Hope to have the new pages up starting later this week or next week. working on moving content to a new format. Also will have to convert some of the pdf to html with a pdf option for download. will test more on win7.
8 February 2015 : Finishing up the Lynda.com course on responsive design and have a working page that is actually flowing text etc. and resizing the content. Amazing how lean the code actually is. working on tweaking the colors etc. and hopefully will have the home page up later this week. After that will work on converting content on the other pages. Right now looks pretty good so hopefully will have that online as well as a lot of new content that I have been working on as well.
29 January 2015 : Catching up on things after a couple of rough months. The Outline for the Gospel of John is ready and the outline for Acts is about ready as well. I have also begun converting the outline for 1 Corinthians so look to have all that on line as well. Currently I am working on responsive design and a redo of the pages to work better with mobile devices so will see how that goes in the next few weeks. 25 November 2014: 48 articles for 2009 added to the articles index. Two of my favorites are God & Santa (December 20th) that makes some light comparisons between the Claus and God. The second is Coming To A Rust Stain Near You (May 10th) about various sightings of miraculous phenomena. Some other good ones in there as well so enjoy.
20 November 2014: Outline for Luke online and ready for use. Had some surgery so during recovery was able to get the outline for Luke moved over to the current format and online. I almost have all of the New Testament done. Still need John, Acts and 1 / 2 Corinthians and that will be done. The outlines for these are part of narratives for classes so will have to condense and move to the simplified format. Currently also working on the Minor Prophets and more images for the illustrations resources. Moving ahead fairly well. Registered with Google webmaster tools so if you have found my site thanks and hope it helps you. I also have bulletin articles for 2009 that are almost ready to upload. May get those in the next day or two.
17 November 2014: Outline for Joshua online and ready for use. Getting close to finishing Luke. My original outline for Luke was very detailed so reformatting that. Also working on the minor prophets as well. Have them in a format that was used for classes but need to completely reformat them for the pdf outline template that I have been using. Researching and learning how to adapt the site for mobile devices. Obviously a work in progress so perhaps in a few more months I will have a redesign online that will scale well with smaller phones etc.
14 November 2014: Got images in the form of bmp, jpg as well as pdf on the charts and illustrations pages. opening just fine and can be saved with right click. Added about 42 articles to finish out 2007. Adjusted a few other things as well which appears to be speeding up the page loads. Still not very fast late evening. Will continue with content loading as I get it available.
11 November 2014: The clock just turned over to midnight and the start of Veterans Day. I wanted to get the metatags, sitemap and robots.txt files in place for my official launch. This is the type of post that would usually go on something like Facebook but since I don't have that I will just leave a note here. I am dedicating the launch to my Dad, Archie Caldwell, a veteran, who died unexpectedly on 1 November, 2014. He will be laid to rest later today with military honors. Dad served with the 10th infantry, 5th Division in basic and then spent quite some time in Europe during the occupation after World War II. In Europe he served as part of the 26th infantry division and was stationed in both Italy and Germany. Dad was in the medical corp. Looking at the flag over the casket though I am reminded that those honors are fleeting and mean nothing in the stream of eternity when it comes down to salvation. What matters above everything else is a love for God and His word. Dad introduced me to God at the outset of my life and I cannot think of a greater gift that a parent can leave with their children. So, here is my site, a tribute to my Dad and thanks to God who will make the future reunion possible. If you read this, thank a Veteran and make a donation for the wounded warriors who sacrificed for us! And, read your Bible. It's important!

10 November 2014: The past few days have been hectic but was able to rework the home page and add a site map - not the best way but that will do as I move forward with the rest of the changes needed and will come back to it. I was able to generate the xml sitemap and also eliminated some potential problems based on suggestions and tools that were highlighted in the SEO course on Lynda.com. I went over all the pages and checked the content for other problems. Think I have about 90% of it now but we shall see. Was able to find a tool online and created a robots.txt file so will see how all that goes as well. As of 11:50 p.m. I have the metatags in place on each of the pages with keywords - we'll see how that works. I had plannned on launching that on 7 November but changed the date due to a death in the family.
08 November 2014: Spent the past 2 days reworking the home page to refine the content and provide a sitemap. Used the google developer page and in the process of fixing things lost some ground on user experience for mobile devices. Still working on that. Added a changed upper menu. the lower was left as is for now. The change is that some of the menus are only 2 layers deep. 3 layers was creating a slow down. But ready for metatags and a few other things that will be good for a live launch.
05 November 2014: Finally got some images up so the Charts and Illustrations page is now active. Added additional content on some other pages. Have made quite a few additions and changes, mostly tweaks and improvements, over the past 2 weeks. Have been dealing with a death in the family for the past few days and this site is about all I can concentrate on which is very therapeutic so perhaps more will get done in the next couple of days.
21 October 2014: Uploaded 15 articles from 2007.
19 October 2014: Outlines for 1 & 2 Peter and James were added today. Only a few outlines left in the New Testament and then on to the Old Testament again. Working on those outlines since they are in my older format. Also have the first charts ready so may be able to add the chart index tonight or tomorrow. Getting closer to a launch.
17 October 2014: Outlines for Galatians and Jude are now online.
16 October 2014: Loaded another 16 sermon outlines from 2005 this morning. Will continue with the sermons now moving forward to 2007. Working on the illustrations. Developing a gallery so they can be previewed and opened from the gallery window.
15 October 2014: Just added 45 sermon outlines to the sermons area. have more on the way as well as more book outlines ready. Not sure if there will be time to do anymore today.
12 October 2014:The sermon index is in place and several entries are there as well. I have about 62 of them at this time ready to go. Finished the outline for the book of Romans and uploaded. Have illustrations on the way as I have reformatted some. Will eventually get them redone to a newer look. I have been working with Adobe web gallery in Bridge and may be able to use that for the thumbnails.
01 October 2014: added a lot of articles, most of which are from 2008 but more coming as I reformat them. Tonight got Genesis online. will have to redo the outline for Deuteronomy since the footer is apparently missing. Working on galleries for charts and illustrations.
18 September 2014: added 1st and 2nd Thessalonians to the book outlines that are online Working on building charts for the site as well. scans are good but need to resize the actual scanned area.

14 September, 2014: most of the primary pages are in place. Started building the book outline library and have the following online: Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Matthew, Ephesians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus and Hebrews . Need to work on the transition for the study guide page as that is slow and not sure why. On Ipad has to double tap to open the page. Tested all the links on the pages and had to correct on link at the bottom of the Book Summary page. Had changed the name of the index and so corrected that.
